Pete's a Grad!

This crazy kid graduated. It has been so much fun being in the same section as him and the same school! He is such a big example to me because of how amazing he is. He got a freaking full ride scholarship to BYU and he is the smartest kid I've ever met. I want to be just like him when I'm a senior!

Ed. Camp.

Well, it has been quite a week.

The marching band has been working non stop since Monday to get ready for this season! We have been having 7am-4pm practices Monday thru Thursday, and finishing our camp with a short day that was 7-noon.
I have to say that this week the whole bands' skin tone got a little darker. Marching outside for hours on end can do that to you!

Our first parade was this morning. It was around 100 degrees all day, and it was quite hot in those uniforms. I could've sworn that the route was longer than the past years, but it was the same. We were trying to integrate the marching style, articulations, and posture that we've learned throughout the week. My muscles were engaged the whole time, and when we could relax, my hip kind of spazzed out.
I have to say that I am so grateful for all the band moms and dads that help us so much. Without them, there would be a line of dehydrated band kids dying for water after we got done. They were there before and after the parade ready to give us all the water that we could handle!
I am kind of nervous for next week's fourth of July parade since it is the longest one we do all year. I know it will be a blast though, since there are so many people cheering us on from the sidelines!

Heralding in those Graduates

Today I had the opportunity to pull out those amazing heralding trumpets and play the national anthem at the Eshore graduation! It was a little nerve racking since I had never used a heralding trumpet before. If you can't tell from the photo, it is twice as long as a trumpet is! They look wicked awesome, though.
I was so glad that I got to do this. Although we may have not sounded the best, it was so much fun!

Sunday Drives

Today, my aunt and uncle were passing through and stopped at our house! They arrived on their Harley. It's pretty much the coolest thing ever! We talked about everything. Golf, motorcycles, family, you name it.
I was pretty excited that they had a motorcycle, so my uncle took me for a ride on it! We just rode over to the temple, but it was so much fun! Having the wind blow in my hair and learning how the machine worked was so amazing. I really want to get one, but I don't think that is in my near future. When I get married though, I want my husband to take me everywhere on one!

Runner Girl

Today I ran a 5k. I have been training for the last two weeks so I knew I could do it! I was shooting for under 40 minutes, but I did it in 35! It was so great to be able to achieve this. And I've grown to love running in the process!

Youth Conference!

This weekend was youth conference!

To say the least, it was a blast. We went to snow college and did so many fun things! We had a dance, water fight, and went to the temple. I love the youth in my stake, but especially in my ward! We are so close and I love them so much. I could feel the Spirit so strongly while sitting at the temple grounds. It is such a peaceful and wonderful place.

I got to golf with these awesome people yesterday! It was pretty radical because we were laughing and having a good time the whole time we were playing!

We golfed with these guys another time and they were super awesome. We were having such a good time!

Please enjoy these extremely awkward pictures of us...

Tonight I had smores with my friends! It was a spur of the moment decision, but we all had a good time. We sat and talked and ate chocolate and roasted marshmallows. It was quite a delicious evening!
