Photo Fails

This week? Busy, but pretty fun, so far. I mean, I wish it was Friday, but it's not. And I can't do anything about that.
Monday was early out, where we get out an hour earlier than usual, but we still had band. And we took our pictures that you saw in our uniforms. So Monday was fun!
Tuesday, it felt kind of long, but it was alright. It was picture day, and my friends were in most of my classes, and my digital photography class was super fun, cause we edited our pictures that we took! I hope that class makes me a better photographer for my food...
On Tuesday we had mutual, which is like a get together for the youth, so we can have an activity. It was great to see all my church friends and talk to them, since I don't see them at school.
Yesterday was okay. Early morning jazz band started, and it was pretty fun. The rest of school was normal. But then we had band, and it was SO SO hot. Like realllyy hot. But thankfully, clouds were invented, and we were saved from frying to death. If anyone could die from sweating too much, I would be dead ten times over.

Anyway, onto the photo fails!

So I happen to really like taking pictures.
I take lots and lots. And lots and lots of pictures.
And have photoshoots with my friends all the time.
But what happens to those photos that don't necessarily work out?
Well we are going to take a little peek into some of those failed pictures.

If you haven't noticed, we take lots of jumping pictures...

I hope you liked these photos! Sometimes they are more fun to look at than the ones that actually work out...

Ten Things Tuesday

Ten Five Things Tuesday
I love baking blogs. Like a whole whole bunch.
I mostly get my recipes off of Pinterest, but, you see, I do check my baking blogs quite often.
Here are 5 completely awesome baking blogs that I use recipes from!

1. My Happy Place

Sophie is pretty much the coolest person ever and my newest friend! She is completely awesome, and has such amazing photography. I am super jealous of her!

2. Brown Eyed Baker

Michelle has so many good recipes! I find myself stealing lots and lots of her recipes. They look and are so delicious!

3. Bake at 350

Bridget is one of the nicest people ever. I remember emailing her once upon a time to check out my blog and she was so sweet! I am super duper jealous of her cookie skills.

4. A Bountiful Kitchen

There are pretty much super awesome pictures and recipes! And she is like me, half Japanese!

5. All Things Delicious

Hi, I'm Hannah...

For one, she is totally beautiful. And she has amazing recipes. And photography. Just amazing in general!

Well there are some of my favorite baking bloggers!
Go check em out :)

Sorry, no Ten Things Tuesday today, but pictures instead!
Yesterday after practice we were taking section photos, and decided to have a trumpet girl photoshoot!

We are pretty tight as girls. We are five girls against 17 boys in our trumpet section, so we stick together. We have lots of fun together, and hang out!
So here are the photos that we got...

I have to say we are pretty rad. Just sayin'

Yesterday we were walking home from church and saw this completely awesome car!
It was our friend's grandma's car, and so she let us sit and take pictures in it.
We went to my house to grab my camera, and went back and took pictures.

Her grandma took us on a drive by our houses, and honked! It was so funny, because the horn is such a funny noise.

Aren't we super cool?

Suit Shoot, New Traditions

Yesterday was the first Saturday after school started.
And I had a marching band sectional at 7 am. Which means in the morning.
I was not a happy camper, but I went. And I was tired, and I was cranky.
But I was there.

Anyway, afterward, I went to DI to drop some junk off, and I found an awesome plate for a cake stand! So I will be making that soon :)

I had been on Pinterest a lot, and wanted to try and figure out how to work our DSLR camera that we have. Since I'm taking a digital photography class in school, I want to be super pro so I can show everyone that I'm smart.

So I came up with the idea to have a photoshoot with my friends! Remember this post? Well I wanted to do that, but with better photos. I texted my friends, and we were originally planning to have a water photoshoot, but it didn't happen. We were all in our swimmin' suits, and we were just taking random photos. Which was pretty great, by the way.

My family had a lot of buckets that were just sitting in our backyard, so we decided to build a tower and take pictures in front of it. I think they turned out pretty cute!

After that, we wanted to have a car wash, since it was hot and we were already in our swimming suits. So we tried to get people to let us wash their cars, but we ended up only washing my parents'.

Everyone went home and got changed into PJ's, so we could watch a movie and get a pizza. We wanted to get a pizza delivered and pull a prank on the delivery guy, so we combined our money and called Papa John's. Right when we were getting ready for the prank, the guy came. Which was super dumb, by the way.

So we shared a pepporoni pizza with pineapple on the floor of my living room while watching Charlie St. Cloud. It was a really good movie!

We decided to make it a tradition: to watch a chick flick on the Saturday after school started, and order a pizza from Papa Johns.

(Can you tell we are super tired?)

Carrot Cupcakes

Hey guys! This Sunday I had a task. To make a dessert for people that were coming over. So I was thinking, and thinking, and thinking some more. It usually takes me thirty minutes to just choose what recipe I'm making, and then making it is a different story. I found this recipe on pinterest, but really didn't want to make a cake. I instead made cupcakes! I kind of guessed on how long they should be in, but it worked pretty well!
And this cream cheese frosting is the best thing I've ever tasted. Ever.

Carrot Cupcakes

adapted from Mary Mary Quite Contrary

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup vegetable oil
6 egg whites
3 cups peeled, grated carrots

Mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Put into 24 cupcake pans, and cook for 20 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool, then frost with Cream Cheese Frosting (see below).

Cream Cheese Frosting

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 stick butter or margarine, softened
powdered sugar [ 2 and a half to 3 and a half cups, depending on how stiff you want your frosting to be ]
2 tsp vanilla.

Stick everything into the kitchen aid, and beat it until it's the right consistency.

I Hike

For mutual on Tuesday we went on a hike. We were originally going to go to the G, and I was super pumped since I've never been there before, but we went to a waterfall instead.
Don't get me wrong...Waterfalls are cool. I just wanted to go to the G. Cause that's what everyone is doing now a days.

So I took my camera along, thinking that we were going to the G.
Then I figured out we were going to a waterfall. But you already know that.
So we took pictures at the waterfall.
Which was super pretty, by the way.
And there were these guys repelling down it. And I should have gotten a picture.
But I didn't.

Sitting on logs is our thing. Especially if it's dangerous and falling off is a possibility.

And to prove that we take horrible pictures, refer to this photo.

Anyway, it was super fun at the waterfall! We heard a great devotional, and it was only a 0.8 mile hike or something, so a walk in the park. Pretty great if pictures are involved!

So my mom and I were at Joann's, because it's the place to be. And I found this awesome lace remnant that I was dying to have! I told her that I was going to make a bow, and she totally didn't believe me. But guess who made a bow all by herself? Yep, me.
I remember seeing this tutorial, and wanted to try it out. I pretty much guessed on all of the measurements, and still don't really know what they are, but it worked out for me!
It was super way awesomely easy. Just keep the proportions of the picture that she has on the tutorial and it will work just fine!

Oh, and do you like the pink in my hair?
